Cautiously Pessimistic is both deeply moving and laugh-out-loud funny as Debbie McGee interweaves two stories: the eight months between her husband’s brain cancer diagnosis and death, and the story of their tumultuous early relationship in the wild St. John’s arts community of the 80’s.
