qathet international film festival

The qathet International Film Festival is an annual celebration of visual arts and cinema held in Powell River, British Columbia. Formerly known as the Powell River Film Festival, this event showcases a diverse selection of international, Canadian, and locally produced films across multiple genres. The festival is hosted by the qathet Film Society, a charitable non-profit organization dedicated to promoting film and visual arts in the region.
The 24th edition of the festival is scheduled for March 7–16, 2025, at the historic Patricia Theatre, Canada’s oldest continuously operating movie theatre since 1913. The Patricia Theatre, renowned for its art deco facade and vintage charm, provides a unique and intimate setting for festival screenings.
Attendees can expect a lineup of critically acclaimed films, including dramas, documentaries, and comedies from around the world.
