DESCRIPTION:Film Screening: Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein’s “The Take” In honour of International Workers’ Day\, in collaboration with BC Nurses Union (BCNU)\, Cinema Politica qathet is pleased to present a documentary by Avi Lewis and Naomi Klein\, “The Take” (2004).  \n\n\n\nEntry by donation  \n\n\n\nFilm will open with a panel discussion with: Tanille Johnston (Campbell River city councilor\, and NDP leadership candidate) Sylvia Marques (BCGEU organiser) Synopsis: In suburban Buenos Aires\, thirty unemployed auto-parts workers walk into their idle factory\, roll out sleeping mats and refuse to leave. All they want is to re-start the silent machines. But this simple act – the take – has the power to turn the globalization debate on its head.
