PRISMA Festival 2025
PRISMA Festival 2025 returns to Powell River from June 16–28, bringing two full weeks of classical music, mentorship, and celebration to the coast.
Presented by the Pacific Region International Summer Music Association, PRISMA connects top-tier music students from 14 countries with internationally renowned guest artists for an immersive orchestral experience.
Under the direction of Maestro Arthur Arnold, this year’s Festival Orchestra will perform four symphony concerts, featuring Mahler’s Symphony No. 6, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 6, Berlioz’s Les Nuits d’été with mezzo-soprano Emma Parkinson, and the world premiere of Mosolov’s Symphony No. 3.
Beyond the big concerts, PRISMA offers nearly 50 unique events — from daily masterclasses and limelight concerts to its beloved Concerto Competition and String Quartet.
A highlight each year is PRISMA on the Beach: a free outdoor concert at Willingdon Beach where you can grab a blanket, some amazing vendor food and take in a sunset performance by the full Festival Orchestra.
The festival has become a cultural staple in the qathet region, drawing over 5,000 attendees each year and earning the Tourism Award from the Powell River Chamber of Commerce for its contribution to the local arts scene.
PRISMA takes place on the traditional territory of the Tla’amin Nation, whose ongoing presence and support are an important part of the festival’s story.
Tickets and festival passes are available online and at the Townsite Public Market. For full event details, visit prismafestival.com.
