SPENDO IS COMING TO QATHET

We’ve got a really good one coming up at the Carlson Loft.

SPENDO is bringing their four-piece rock show over from Vancouver on Friday, September 11, with local band El Camino joining them.

SPENDO was recently named “Best in Vancouver” by Live Acts Canada and has been busy playing festivals and selling out shows around BC. Big guitars, big hooks, great harmonies and a seriously tight live band.

Now we get to have them here in qathet.

Enjoy an evening of ska, reggae, blues, rocksteady, and roots music with The Mooks, featuring acclaimed musicians Vic Ruggiero (The Slackers), Simon Chardiet, and Jory Kinjo.

Vic Ruggiero is internationally recognized as the frontman and songwriter for The Slackers, while Simon Chardiet has spent decades performing across New York’s independent music scene. Jory Kinjo is an award winning Canadian musician known for his work in soul, blues, reggae, and ska, having toured with artists including B.B. King, The Planet Smashers, and The Slackers.

Pacfic Resonance

Pacific Resonance Festival

Pacific Resonance Festival brings a weekend of chamber music to the Sunshine Coast, featuring violinists Madeline Hocking and Isabella Perron, violist Tilman Sandvoss, cellist Daniel Hamin Go, and Simon Gidora. Three of the five performers are PRISMA alumni, including Madeline Hocking, who grew up in qathet.

The qathet program includes Beethoven’s Quartet No. 1 in F Major, Samuel Barber’s Dover Beach, Elvis Costello’s The Birds Will Still be Singing from The Juliet Letters, Caroline Shaw’s Entr’acte, and Brahms’ String Quintet No. 2 in G Major.

Lund Daze 2026

Lund Daze returns to the Kla Ah Men Lund Gazebo on Saturday, July 25, bringing an afternoon and evening of live music, art, food, and community from 3:00 pm until late.

The lineup features Wassabi Collective, Elastic Band, DJ Simon Sayz, KP Duty, Savanna feat. Walter Martella, Lukah Bouchard, Beach Crashers, Damian John, the Half-Stoned Project, and more. Along with live performances, you’ll find local vendors, food, art, volleyball, a teen tent, and a kids’ corner. Everyone is welcome, kids get in free, and admission is by donation ($10–$20 suggested). Don’t forget your water bottle!
