A Little Bit Much is a one-woman show by Chela Davison, coming to the Evergreen Theatre in Powell River on Saturday, January 24 at 7:30 pm.

Blending stand up comedy and personal storytelling, Chela dives into a life filled with big ideas, sharp jokes, relationships, travel, identity, and the exhausting pursuit of “having it all.” Honest, funny, and unapologetically real, this show speaks directly to anyone who has ever been told they are “a little bit much,” especially women navigating expectations, ambition, and self growth.

Jake’s Gift-A Canadian WW2 veterans’ reluctant return to Normandy

Due to popular demand Jake’s Gift returns to The Max for 2 nights! A 90 min one act play with no intermission.

Jake’s Gift is a surprisingly funny drama that tells the story of a Canadian WW2 veterans’ reluctant return to Normandy France, for the 60th anniversary of D-Day. While roaming the shores of Juno Beach, Jake encounters Isabelle, a precocious ten-year-old from the local village whose inquisitive nature and charm challenge the old soldier to confront some long-ignored ghosts–most notably, the wartime death of his eldest brother, Chester, a once promising young musician. At its heart, Jake’s Gift is about the legacy of remembrance and makes personal the story behind one soldier’s grave. Since 2007, Juno Productions has toured this multi-award-winning play to over 265 communities across Canada including international stops in Washington State, Tiverton & Birmingham, England, and to Normandy, France, for the 70th, 73rd,and 75th anniversary of D-Day.

Mitzi Jones has been teaching acting locally and internationally for over twenty five years. Starting as a director of Young actors at Tarlington Training in Vancouver, run by one of the industries most influential casting directors, Carole Tarlington before moving to London, where she trained, acted, directed, privately coached and taught for a number of years. Since then she has worked with many successful artists worldwide and has helped kickstart multiple careers Canada wide. She currently travels to Italy every spring with LS&CO Studios to work with professional actors in Rome. This is an excellent opportunity to have some concentrated time with one of BC’s top acting coaches in our home town!
